Award ceremony in North Tyneside

A unique award has been presented to a member of the nursing community of a private care home in North Shields. Jackie Longstaff was identified for her outstanding level of care that she afforded patients within a palliative care ward of the Prince’s Court Nursing Home.
Reverend George Callander, President of the Society of Bereavement Practitioners said at the ceremony at which Jackie was presented with the SBP Certificate of Appreciation, “Jackie is clearly highly regarded by her peers and management, but this award has been made following a nomination we received from the family of one of her patients who sadly passed away on Christmas Day. Her unswerving dedication to care and quality on the end of life pathway for this, and many other families and individuals, makes Jackie a most worthy recipient”.
A large number of patients and relatives, colleagues and members of Jackie’s family - including her grandchildren - gathered for the ceremony and subsequent refreshments.
